Our Recruitment Process
We aim to make applying for a role as easy as possible; our online process includes a vacancy search facility, online application form and online interview booking. The majority of our communication with you is by email, so you will need an email address that you check regularly.
You can take as long as you like to fill in the application form but don't hang around otherwise your dream job working abroad might get snapped up by someone else!
During the selection process, you will also find out more about working for Travelbound and the role you have applied for. Interviews are held across the UK.
You may also be asked to bring along various documentation depending on the role you have applied for e.g. passport, qualifications and all our staff are asked to complete a Criminal Record Disclosure.

Working at the Chateau du Molay
It can be a long season and due to the chateau's location it is easy to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere! However, at the chateau we work as a team and look after each other, like a family. You can borrow a bike and explore the countryside or visit the local town and train station which are just are 30 minutes walk away.
The chateau has its own football pitch, tennis court, restaurant, bar and outdoor heated swimming pool (from May to September) so there are lots of activities to keep you busy on a hot summer's day. We also have UK Sky TV so you can keep up-to-date with news and programmes from back home.
Where is the Chateau du Molay?
The chateau can be found in a rural setting within 38 acres of private parkland located near the village of Molay Littry in Normandy. The closest major city is Caen which is 40 minutes away and Paris is only 3 hours away by train. Bayeux and the D-Day beaches are approximately 15kms away and can be easily reached by car or bicycle, if you're feeling fit!

As the chateau is situated in the countryside we advise that you take books, CD's, DVD's, cards, games etc to keep yourself entertained. There is a staff lounge offering a TV, DVD player, fridge and kettle. The hotel facilities are available to you when the guests are out (usually in the daytime) this includes pool table, games machines, Satellite TV, outdoor heated pool (May to September) and bicycles. There are also the famous staff bbq's and days out to enjoy! You will also have free access to the internet.
Off site you can enjoy go-karting, horse riding, windsurfing, museum visits and fishing (at an additional cost).
What does the chateau offer as a business?
We aim to provide our guests with a service which is efficient and professional but is noticeably more friendly and informal than in traditionally run hotels. Most of the chateau guests are school parties who come to study history or language courses. We try to get children to speak French where possible so working at the chateau is a good opportunity for you to learn and practise your language skills. We have a fully licensed bar and a hotel standard restaurant offering continental breakfast and evening meals. All staff meals take place prior or after guest sittings.
Staff accommodation
Accommodation will be supplied for all positions, usually this is shared and will either be in the chateau itself or in the annex. Rooms are basic but comfortable and we advise that you bring things from home to personalise your room (i.e. photos etc).
It is your responsibility to ensure that all areas of this accommodation remains in a clean and well maintained state.
Upon your arrival
When you arrive into Caen Ferry Port you will be collected by a member of the chateau team. Depending on your arrival time, you will be given an induction which will include a tour of the building and grounds along with a welcome pack. To keep in touch with friends and family, French sim cards can be purchased from around 20 Euros.
Friends and Family
Dependent on availability, friends and family are welcome to stay at the chateau, please liaise with Gemma or Lisle for details of rates. We want to make your summer working in France as enjoyable and worthwhile as possible so please let us know of any way we can help out with travel arrangements for your friends and family.

We have a total of 19 staff on site at high season and in 2009 we have 5 staff returning from last year.

Nadine, a local French lady, is responsible for all the laundry.
