Meet Travelbound's Helen Clifford
Having worked in educational travel since 1999, I have a real passion and commitment for delivering tailor-made group tours for lecturers and teachers alike. My most memorable trip was an art tour to Paris with the University of Brighton - seeing first-hand the great works of art which were only ever presented within the lecture room from a slide or within the pages of a book.
The Musée d'Orsay to this day is still one of my favourite cultural institutions. When travelling for work and pleasure, I always try to explore the less touristy areas to find the true identity of each destination. One rule I always employ is ‘never eat at a restaurant that has photos of the food outside’!
Favourite city: For me, Florence is one of the most beautiful and mesmerising cities in the world. One of my favourite films is the 1986 Merchant Ivory film adaptation of E.M. Forster's novel, A Room with a View, where Florence provides a stunning and romantic backdrop for this timeless love story.
About me: I enjoy Nordic Noir TV, drinking diet coke and indulging in retail therapy. My aversion is metal on metal (errggghh!!!). My worst fear is opening the cutlery drawer and seeing two forks stuck together, it sets my teeth on edge!
