Andalucia: Art & Art History

[Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Key Stage 5 - A Level]

The unique mix of Western and Islamic heritage in Andalucia gives students a captivating example of stylistic fusions that they can bring to their own work. As the birthplace of Picasso, and the site of the best fine arts collection outside Madrid, it has much to offer art groups looking for an exciting educational experience.

  • KS 3-5: First-hand observation of unique mixtures of art and design from different cultures.
  • KS 3-5: Students can find inspiration for their own work.

Student Outcomes:

  • An opportunity to view a wide range of artwork sometimes in their original settings.
  • Works are put into context for students to help them understand the inspirations and techniques behind the creations.
  • Students' own work can benefit from the range of influences at their disposal.
  • Students can understand how and why stylistic fusions have occurred and be inspired to try their own.
