This programme will provide school trips with several opportunities to learn about current issues such as sustainability and conservation. Students will be able to interact with members of the local community and learn about the different ways people work with the natural environment.
Subject Focus:
- KS 5: Focus on sustainability and study the interaction of people and their environment.
- KS 5: Study the ancient culture and history behind the Mayans.
- KS 5: Opportunities to study flooding and storm survival strategies.
Student Outcomes:
- Students will understand the diversity of Belize's natural environment and important conservation issues facing the country.
- Develop an understanding of Mayan Ancient history through archaeological study.
- Experience local communities and engage with students from local schools.
- Learn to respect different national, religious and ethnic identities.
- Develop life skills through leadership, teamwork, goal setting, money management and taking on responsibilities.
