  • Council of the European Union

    The Council meets in open session, providing a valuable opportunity for students to observe the processes of European integration in action, seeing how ministers balance national and international interest.

  • Parliament of the EU

    The Parliament and the Council of the EU constitute its two legislative arms. Seeing the parliament in session (when it is in Brussels) allows students to see how local concerns and debates are handled on a European stage.

  • European Commission

    This is the other important EU institution based in Brussels. The Commission sets the direction of the EU, proposing legislation and implementing it. Visiting this institution allows students to see the concluding part of the EU in action.

  • Port of Antwerp

    Import/export, storage, distribution and production are the main business of this port. In 2007 the port of Antwerp handled 182,896,788 tonnes of freight thus representing a growth of 9.3% compared with 167 million tonnes in 2006.
