China tour: Citizenship & Learning Skills

[Key Stage 5 - A Level]

Your group can assess the impacts of tourism throughout the country and experience the growth in economy and population for themselves. This educational trip will help students to enhance their understanding of the economic and cultural changes that are occurring in China.

Subject Focus:

  • KS 5: Visit sights of historical and cultural significance.
  • KS 5: Travel through a large part of China and experience the variation of cultures and customs in different regions.
  • KS 5: Learn about the conservation achievements and challenges facing China.

Student Outcomes:

  • Travel to several regions of China and compare the differences and similarities in landscape and how people have adapted their lifestyles to survive.
  • Understand the symbolism of monuments, statues and temples and their significance to Chinese people.
  • Explore the importance of the fall of the empire and the Chinese Revolution.
  • Allow students to see for themselves the mystery and traditions that surround the many elements of Chinese culture.
