The history of China is an increasingly popular option for teachers. Visiting groups can learn about significant events in the places where they occurred as well as seeing some spectacular sights including Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden Palace.

  • KS 5: Explore changes and continuities between Imperial and communist China.
  • KS 5: Reflect over the influence of the past on modern day life, as the streets, sites and art of Beijing tell the story of this city and its people throughout history.
  • KS 5: Think about the historical events in Beijing and the influence they've had on the rest of the world.

  • Understand how monuments' meanings change over time due to changing attitudes and events.
