North India : Citizenship & Learning Skills

[Key Stage 5 - A Level]

Students will have the opportunity to see a country of high religious and cultural diversity with a complex and developed belief system. Not only will your group be seeing the sites of Jaipur, but will be actively involved with a locally run NGO and contributing to the communities.

Subject Focus:

  • KS 5: Experience the diverse mix of cultures in evidence throughout India.
  • KS 5: Study the impacts of tourism upon the community and the country as a whole.
  • KS 5: Understand the links between communities, cultures and businesses and how they relate to sustainable development.
  • KS 5: Explore the colonial past and how India achieved independence from the British Empire.

Student Outcomes:

  • Contribute to an under privileged community in India by working with a locally run NGO.
  • Students will interact with the organisations that work to make the world a better place.
  • Building confidence through leadership and team-work.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of a sustainable development project on the Jaipur community.
  • Understanding the diversity of cultures throughout the world.
  • Develop skills as responsible global citizens.
