After the fall of the Roman Empire, the city continued to be important as the centre of the Christian world. A school trip to Rome will help students understand the history, practice and continuing importance of Catholicism in the world today, in what promises to be both an academic and spiritual experience.

  • KS 3-5: Understand the importance of Rome in beliefs and practices throughout the Christian world.
  • KS 3-5: Explore the role of the Catholic Church in the contemporary world.
  • KS 3-5: Examine the importance of art in religion.

Student Outcomes:

  • Appreciate the history and development of Catholicism in Rome.
  • Understand religious practices that may not be their own.
  • Evaluate the changing role of religion in everyday life.
  • Explore how people have practiced different religions through time and the role of these religions in different cultures.
