  • Palmero

    A great chance to see some of the most significant religious sites that shaped the Sicilian people. Visit the church of San Giovanni degli Eremit, the Palantine Chapel in the Palazzo dei Normanni, Monreale Cathedral and the Benedictine cloister that has a beautiful panoramic view of the ancient city.

  • Agrigento

    Students can study the exhibits on display at the archaeological museum and also go to Temples Valley, where they will see the Temple of Hera, Concordia and Hercules to name but a few.

  • Siracusa

    What a great opportunity to observe an actual Greek theatre, not only that but students will also see the amphitheatre, the Ear of Dionsius, Archimedes tomb and the mythological Aretusa Fountain.

  • Mount Etna

    A visit to the largest active volcano in Europe will provide students with an amazing experience and also the chance to study the ancient communities that lived in the volcano's vicinity.

    • Mount Etna

      What an opportunity to study and observe the activity of the largest active volcano in Europe. Our guide from the Alpine Club of Sicily will take students on a half hour walk near the actual crater. A supplement will then be payable (price on application) for the ascent of Mount Etna. It is also possible to visit the main crater by jeep.

    • Aeolian Islands

      The Aeolian Islands are currently listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.  They are a popular tourist destination in the summer, and attract up to 200,000 visitors annually. This will provide a great opportunity for students to investigate the affects of tourism upon the local community and the geographical landscape.

    • Agriculture at Enna

      Enna is the highest provincial capital of Italy and is located in the centre of Sicily, towering above the surrounding countryside. There are some spectacular panoramic views to be seen and Enna provides a perfect chance to assess the surrounding agricultural developments of the local Sicilians.

    • Alcantra Gorge

      The woods around the gorge are actually quite small, but this scenic site, on the Alcantara River offers a pleasant glimpse of Etna's geological influence on the surrounding countryside. The water that flows through this basalt formation is always cool, and bathing is permitted during the summer months.
