[Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Key Stage 5 - A Level]

Learning what it takes to manage a working yacht is a life changing experience and we actively encourage our physical education groups to join in and enjoy. Responsibility for other team members, leadership development and communication all play key parts in sailing and these skills transpose themselves to other team activities helping your group to grow and mature.

Subject Focus:

  • KS 3-5: Leadership, team building and communication skills.
  • KS 3-5: Rudimentary basics of sailing a yacht.
  • KS 3-5: Importance of safety and following procedures and instructions.
  • KS 3-5: Challenge and improve physical ability under pressure.
  • KS 3-5: Basic first aid. 

Student Outcomes:

  • Work within a small team and gain experience in leadership and responsibility.
  • Discover a new sport and develop new skills.
  • Find out what it takes to be an Olympic competitor.
  • Learn about the ocean and the importance of listening to instructions.
