Part of this programme places your students in a local village for a night. This experience will allow students to experience how local communities live and what traditions and customs are important to the Thai people.
Subject Focus:
- KS 5: Learning about other cultures and lifestyles.
- KS 5: Enhance experience of working in a team during the trekking phase and gain skills in packing a rucksack, map reading and path finding.
- KS 5: Working alongside the host community with a charity organisation and engage with members of a local village.
Student Outcomes:
- Explore the forests of Thailand on elephant back.
- Study the impacts of tourism on the economy and the community.
- Gain an understanding of rural ways of life and contribute to the Thailand Volunteer Programme.
- Stay with a local family in a Thai village and learn of the agricultural system.
- Gain essential skills in becoming a responsible global citizen.
