Subject related visits

  • Chiang Mai Orphanage

    This local orphanage offers the chance to get involved in an official responsible travel project. By engaging and playing with the children at the orphanage your students will learn how they can help the lives of others through their positive actions.

  • Trek and overnight home stay

    Your group will head out of Chiang Mai and into the hills. After a visit to an elephant training camp students travel by pick-up truck to a small tribal village before continuing on foot through mountainous terrain to Palong village. Students will then spend the night in a traditional village house.  

  • Elephant ride

    Students will have the option of riding on the back of an elephant or walking alongside as they journey through the jungle of Northern Thailand.

      Your group will have the option of riding or walking alongside an elephant as they journey through the jungle of northern Thailand.

    • Chiang Mai Tribal Mountain Village

      After a visit to the elephant training camp everyone will travel by pick-up truck to a small tribal village. There will then be a short hike on hill side terrain until you arrive at Palong village where students will spend the night in a traditional village house.

    • Bamboo Rafting

      Depending on water levels the rafting can range from a relaxing float taking in the sounds and sights of the jungle to an exhilarating ride negotiating boulders and rapids as you dodge the overhanging trees. Your guides/tour leader will advise you on the best spots to jump in the river for a quick cool off. If you're lucky you may see elephants wading through the water, water buffalo submerged in the mud holes and local people fishing as you glide past. Waterproof cameras recommended!

    • Chiang Mai Hill Tribe

      After a visit to the elephant training camp your group will visit a small tribal village and stay there for the night. There will opportunities to experience how local produce is grown and supplied and how the village sustains itself as a traditional village.

    • Community Project

      Part of the tour stops at the Hosts Phang Nga Bay Fishers' Community project (REST - Responsible Ecological Social Tours Project). Here, your students will visit the local orphanage and use their free time to play with the children. By donating your time to the orphanage you can help them initiate projects and achieve their goals.
