• Here beautiful villages nestle in-between magnificent medieval cities. Explore where history has been made from William the Conqueror to the D-Day landings. Normandy offers fine foods from the traditional dish of snails to locally produced goats cheese. With so much to discover in this region, your itinerary will be peppered with memories of chocolate making and marine life. Normandy offers a warm welcome to performing groups of all genres and standards.

    Perform...

    • Normandy's many abbeys, cathedrals and churches offer excellent opportunities for choirs. Exceptional groups may be permitted to sing at the Abbaye aux Hommes or Abbaye aux Dames.
    • For a truly memorable experience, some groups are able to sing in the Eglise de St Pierre in the magnificent setting of Mont St Michel, or the magnificent Gothic Cathedral of Rouen
    • Outdoor venues are popular for bands and other instrumental ensembles, and we like the Juno Beach Centre which is extremely popular with tourists.
    • A moving and poignant performance is possible at the American Military Cemetery at Omaha Beach, where a classical repertoire is preferred for choral and instrumental groups.

    Don't Miss!

    • Visit the castle of William the Conqueror, the last successful invader of Britain and see the story immortalised in the Tapestry of Bayeux.
    • Walk along the D-Day landing beaches, see the Mulberry harbours still resting in the sea and visit the moving memorials to those who died in the liberation of Europe.
    • Visit a traditional cheese-making farm and sample some of the delicious local produce!

  • Notre Dame du Bessin Cathedral, Bayeux

In the morning pupils can explore the historic town of Bayeux on foot taking in the cobbled streets and medieval architecture prior to visiting the museums and monuments. In the afternoon pupils are invited to rehearse and perform to local residents at the Notre Dame du Bessin Cathedral. All promotional material will be prepared and displayed in advance of the concert.

  • Eglise St Pierre, Caen

This wonderful church is much loved by the residents of Caen and as such is a renowned venue for concerts and recitals. We can help your group organise, promote and perform a concert that will stay in their memories for a long time. Caen itself has a rich history (although ravaged by war) and pupils will be able to find out more about WWII and medieval Normandy through the city's beautiful abbeys, churches and memorials.

  • Saint Aubin sur Mer

This small seaside town was once the location of one of the most significant actions of WWII and as such has numerous monuments and historical sites to interest school groups. Music and concert groups will be able to perform and rehearse at the Catholic church, Eglise St-Aubin-sur-Mer, which is located within the town centre.

  • Treeplanting ceremony

Groups are invited to plant a fruit tree in our Eco-Avenue. Not only will these trees contribute to balancing your trip's carbon emissions but they will one day provide fruit for the chateau kitchen, helping us to reduce our own food-mileage.

  • Travel information:

Coach Journey Time from Calais: 4-5 hours. We use a low-carbon coach company and also offer our groups the opportunity to off-set any remaining emissions.
