• A stunning array of concert halls, cathedrals and churches provide the perfect venues for pupils studying and performing classical music. We can help you to organise a music tour that encourages pupils to soak up the rich history and culture of the capital city of the Czech Republic. This is not only a beautiful city, it is an inspiration for all lovers of classical music.

    Perform...
    • St Nicolas' Church, St Vitus Cathedral and the impressive Old Town Square are all regular concert venues.
    • For large groups with big musical aspirations, the Dvorák Hall of Prague's neo-renaissance Rudolfinum, home of the Czech Philharmonic, offers an unforgettable musical experience.
    • In the north of the Czech Republic, the spa town of Jáchymov offers a beautiful romantic era performance space in the Radium Hall.

    Don't Miss!
    • A guided tour of the Old Town includes the Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, the Castle and the winding streets that make up this historic capital.
    • There's scarcely a better way to get into the local culture than by eating a traditional meal and experiencing some folk music and dancing!
    • For a taste of something quite unusual, we recommend the former silver-mining town of KutnaHora. Here, you can visit both the impressive St Barbara's Cathedral and the macabre Ossuary in nearby Sedlec.

  • St Nicholas Church

This magnificent Baroque Church right on the Old Town Square regularly hosts performances by visiting choirs and orchestras as part of their regular afternoon concert series. Audiences are always good and appreciative.

  • Spanish Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter

Throughout Prague Old Town pupils will discover a diverse world of beauty and tragic history; nothing translates this more than the Spanish synagogue, one of the most beautiful synagogues in Europe. The magnificent building, which is still the main house of prayer of Prague's Jewish community, forms part of the Jewish Museum and is a wonderful setting for early evening classical concerts.

  • The Klementinum

This is one of the largest and most significant series of buildings in Prague's Old Town and is a must for school groups interested in Prague's cultural past. The Klementinum has provided sanctuary to astronomers, scientists, musicians and philosophers and all have influenced the development of the buildings. Concerts are held in the historic Mirror Chapel, where Mozart once played the organ.

  • The Rudolfinum (Dvorák Concert Hall)

The Rudolfinum is the home of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and as such hosts some of the grandest concerts in the city. The wonderful architecture is Neo-Renaissance in style and the location, by the river in Prague's Old Town, provides pupils with a perfect reflection of a time gone by.

  • Municipal House (Smetana Concert Hall)

Municipal House is home to the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and classical concerts involve some of the finest performers in Prague. This is the perfect opportunity for pupils to see the opulence and grandeur associated with classical music. A visit to a concert will be an absolute delight for lovers of the fine arts and a real treat for young musicians.

  • Prague Castle

The Defenestration of Prague took place here, an event that sparked the Thirty Years' War, drawing many of the states of Europe into conflict and playing an important role in modern understandings of statehood. School tours can reflect on the roots and possible causes of the conflict.

  • Venues in West Bohemia

A concert at Collonade in KV or a visit to the Church of St.Ann in Sedlec could be combined with sightseeing and a visit to the glassfactory Moser / visit to Becher museum, or do a stop in Pilsen en-route and visit the brewery, dinner in local restaurant of KV recommended.

  • Venues in Central Bohemia

A music concert in Podebrady could be combined with a visit to the Skoda Car Factory in Mlada Boleslav or Kutna Hora - tour of the town, visit to Cathedral of St.Barbora, museum and Ossuary Sedlec.
