• A city that has captured the world’s imagination for centuries is now in real danger of disappearing beneath the lagoon, the defining aspect of the city now threatening its existence. Venice has drawn visitors for centuries, who have come to marvel at the Basilica San Marco, the Grand Canal and St Mark’s Square. This spell-binding city has winding streets and bridges a- plenty, where every corner turned is a new discovery. Don’t wait; go before it’s too late…

    Perform...

    • St Mark's Basilica - This venue needs no introduction and is a firm favourite and "must do" experience for most groups.
    • Piazza Aurora - The purpose built stage on this Piazza offers an opportunity to perform in the thick of the action on Lido di Jesolo.
    • Padova - A day trip to this University City offers an introduction to different aspects of Italian culture and various different performance opportunities.

    Don't Miss!

    • Be a local and explore the city on the vaporetto – take the Number 1 for spectacular views of the city palaces from the Grand Canal
    • Visit Verona, made famous by Juliet's balcony!
    • Stay in the family beach resort of Lido di Jesolo
  • Basilica of St Anthony, Padua

This sanctuary is the largest church in Padua. As the resting place of St Anthony it is one of the most visited churches in Italy welcoming thousands of pilgrims each day. Choirs are invited to sing at Mass in this incredible place of faith.

  • Church of San Giovanni in Bragora

We love this church where Antonio Vivaldi was baptised in 1641. The local priest is very welcoming and he is known to give performing groups a copy of the baptism certificate. The afternoon concerts are well supported by the local congregation.

  • Theatre La Fenice

One of the most famous theatres in the world, it has been rebuilt twice and has suffered from fires and other legal problems, from where it gets its name "The Phoenix". A guided tour of the "La Fenice" theatre will give pupils the idea of what a great venue it really is.

  • Islands of the Lagoon

This boat trip will let students visit Murano, famous for its glassware, Torcello, a peaceful island with a beautiful cathedral and Burano which is famous for its lace products.

  • Aqualandia

Based on a Caribbean island paradise; Aqualandia boasts rides, shows and water-based thrills. Great fun on a hot day and plenty of facilities for sporty students including: volleyball courts, a football pitch and mini-golf.

  • Bridge of Sighs

Has there ever been a more apt name for a bridge? Lord Byron coined the term and the enclosed walkway across the Rio di Palazzo, linking the old prison with the Doge's Palace, is a popular site on the tourist trail.

  • St Mark's Square

Even when flooded this famous principal piazza is busy with crowds enjoying the backdrop of the Basilica of San Marco.

  • Guggenheim Venice

Showcasing 20th century art from Europe and America, this museum's collection is probably the best of its kind in Italy. It ranges from Cubism to Abstract Expressionism, enabling students to see a range of works and styles.
