  • The Dead Sea

    At a distance of 422 metres below sea level the Dead or Salt Sea is the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. As it is 8.6 times more salty than the ocean it is possible to actually float on the water. This is a popular destination for curious tourists and those seeking the healing properties of the mineral rich water. 

  • Al Karak

    This is home to one of Jordan's largest Crusader castles and some magnificent hill top views of the Dead Sea. The city itself is relatively small, with a population of some 20,000 people, and contains many examples of architecture from the Ottoman Empire.
     

  • Dana Nature Reserve

    A variety of landscapes make up the 800 square miles of Dana nature reserve. From wooded hillsides to sand dunes there are lots of different natural habitats and, as such, this is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. A campsite, a visitor centre and several hiking trails are a great way to find out more about this diverse natural area of Jordan. 

  • Petra

    Carved into the beautiful rose red rock this ancient city is one of the most popular tourist destinations and the symbolic heart of Jordan. Excavations have found that it was the ability of the original inhabitants, the Nabataeans, to control a desert stream that led to the rise in the city's stature as a commercial through route. 

  • Wadi Rum

    Wadi is the Arabic term for a valley and Wadi Rum is the largest of its kind in Jordan. The main valley in the area is now home to the Zalabia Bedouins who work with climbers and trekkers to provide eco-adventures, such as nights under the stars, for groups and individuals. 

  • Jerash

    Just outside of Jerash the ancient ruins of the town of Gerasa has some of the best preserved examples of Roman architecture outside of Italy including: colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples and theatres. The surrounding countryside varies from mountains to fertile valleys and has been used to grow a wide variety of crops. 

  • Amman

    The City of Seven Hills, as the name suggests, is in a mountainous area of north western Jordan. This is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world and today it serves as the capital and largest city in Jordan with over 2 million inhabitants.
