• The summer months in the French Alps are absolutely gorgeous and fresh air, outdoor activities and cultural excursions make this destination ideal for school groups. • Strengthen, develop and practise within real life situations.
    • Discover the culture of Alpine communities out of the winter season.
    • Explore the foothills of the Alps and develop a passion for the great outdoors.
  • Geneva

The main city in the area has plenty to offer including cruises on the River Rhone or on the lake, a visit of the Red Cross Museum, the Clock Museum, the United Nations Building and the renowned “Jet d’eau” , one of the tallest fountains in the world.

  • Market day in Alpe d’Huez

Once a week the Alpe d'Huez has a market selling local produce including: bread, meat, cheese, vegetables and delicious preserves. This is an excellent environment to listen, read and ask for information and the friendly stall holders are always happy to help!

  • Le Bourg-d'Oisans

Take a half-day trip to the traditional town of Le Bourg-d'Oisans which is often used as part of the route for the Tour De France. Narrow streets, steep winding roads, a geology museum and several small shops, cafes and restaurants will provide plenty of opportunities for practising your new found language skills.

  • Alpine Language Schools

Schools in the French Alps are fully equipped with classrooms, modern teaching aids and dedicated language tutors. Class sizes are usually no more than 15 students to 1 teacher and activities outside of the classroom are also monitored by a professional member of staff. Classes are graded at different levels and a certificate of attendance and an academic report will be awarded upon completion of the course.

  • Huez and Oisans Museum

This local museum presents relics, photos and models relating to the mining past of the Alpe d‘Huez. Silver mining was big business back in the Middle Ages and your group will be able to read and listen for information as some of the exhibits around the museum and in the audiovisual centre are displayed in French.

  • Walibi Theme Park

Over 30 rides, 4 of which are water based, provide non-stop fun and thrills for school groups. This is a recreational day out however, a lot of the sign posts are in French so there are some practical language learning opportunities to be had. On-site restaurants, cafes, games rooms and shops provide some alternatives to getting wet and screaming!

  • La Bastille

Take the bubble cable car up the slopes of Chartreuse Mountain to discover the well-preserved fortifications of La Bastille. Ramparts, blockhouses and steps, which rise up almost 300 metres, give way to a series of caves, galleries and dungeons making this an exciting and memorable place to visit.
