  • Peggy Guggenheim Collection

    The Collection is the most important museum in Italy for European and American art from the first half of the 20th century. It is located in Peggy Guggenheim's former home, Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, on the Grand Canal in Venice. The museum was inaugurated in 1980 and presents Peggy Guggenheim's personal collection of 20th century art including masterpieces from the Gianni Mattioli Collection, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, as well as some temporary exhibitions.
     

  • Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace)

    The Doge's Palace has façades which were designed by Giovanni and Bartolomeo Buon which date from 1309 to 1424. The palace which was started in the 9th century was rebuilt several times and completed in the Renaissance period. It forms part of the great scheme of town-planning which was carried out through successive centuries.
     

  • National Archaeological Museum

    The Museum hosts a collection of ancient sculptures, including some major original Greek works. It contains also bronze statues, potteries, jewels and coins. The museum consists of a collection of works collected by eminent Venetian families since the 16th century which began in 1523 with the legacy of Cardinal Domenico Grimani; on his death he bequeathed to the Signoria most of his collection of ancient objects. 

  • Merletti School (Burano)

    The 14th-century Palazzo Rodotà houses a rare collection of laces from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Merletti is based on the island of Burano where the tradition of lace making dates back to the 15th century. Clients come from all over the world to buy lace here, among them Heads of State, Princes, actors and sheiks visit the ‘atelier' every day.
     

  • Correr Museum

    Located along the south side of the famous Piazza San Marco in Venice, the Correr Museum hosts fascinating art, documents, artefacts, and maps that chart the history and day to day life of Venice across the centuries. The Napoleonic Wing is decorated in a stunning neoclassical style and houses a prestigious collection of works by Antonio Canova. There is plenty for your group to learn about art in Venice through history.
     

  • Carnival Masks Workshop

    Venetian Carnival Marks are an iconic part of Venetian culture. Often elaborately decorated with gold leaf, feathers and made from leather or in the traditional glass.   • Ca d’Oro (Franchetti Gallery)

    The Ca' d'Oro is one of the most famous civilian buildings of Venice. The gallery houses a wonderful art collection, from the Venetian, Tuscan and Flemish schools of artistic talent. There is also a collection of bronzes, Renaissance sculptures and an interesting ceramic collection.
     

  • Venice 54th Art Biennale

    Just as its name suggests, every two years Venice stages this world class Art gathering. This year it will be directed by  Bice Curiger and will be staged in different venues all around Venice.  The show is titled ILLUMInations, and will be set up in the Central Pavilion at Giardini and the Arsenale forming a single itinerary that will feature 82 artists from all over the world.
     

  • The Ghetto

    Home to 5 synagogues, kosher restaurants and a Jewish Community Museum. The actual name ghetto originates from here and the fictional Shakespearian character, Shylock, was considered a resident.

  • Rialto Bridge

    The final stone version has been standing intact since 1591. Groups can walk across or float under the Ponte di Rialto to fully appreciate the architecture and historic views.

  • Bridge of Sighs

    Has there ever been a more apt name for a bridge? Lord Byron coined the term and the enclosed walkway across the Rio di Palazzo, linking the old prison with the Doge's Palace, is a popular site on the tourist trail.

  • St Mark's Square

    Even when flooded this famous principal piazza is busy with crowds enjoying the backdrop of the Basilica of San Marco.

  • Guggenheim Venice

    Showcasing 20th century art from Europe and America, this museum's collection is probably the best of its kind in Italy. It ranges from Cubism to Abstract Expressionism, enabling students to see a range of works and styles.

  • Ca’ Pesaro

    Housed in one of Venice's many unique palaces, the focus of this gallery is modern and it contains works from artists such as: Klee, Klimt and Chagall. Students can explore how the works on display connect with the surroundings.

  • Museo del Castelvecchio Verona

    Containing paintings and sculptures by Jacopo and Gentile Bellini, among others, this museum provides a range of works from Romanesque Verona.

  • Accademia

    This gallery of fine art traces the development of Venetian art and artists chronologically up to the 18th century. Students can see a vast range of art inspired by the many different perspectives a single city can provide.
