• Being the European centre of politics and the home of the European Commission, European Parliament and NATO, Brussels is an essential visit for any Law & Politics student with plenty to see and experience. A hands on approach to learning will mean students retain a maximum amount of knowledge to return to their studies at home with.

  • The Royal Palace

    The Royal Palace is the home of the Belgian Parliament just across from the Park of Brussels. King Albert II has his offices here and it is used for state receptions, royal audiences and court ceremonies. The 150 feet long throne room is one of its focal points and has an elaborate mosaic parquet floor and lit by eleven chandeliers. Each year, during summer months only, the Royal Palace in Brussels opens its doors to the public.

  • Grand Palace

    The Grand Place is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built in the 13th century as a market it is now surrounded by restaurants and bars and every 2 Augusts a carpet of flowers is laid at the front of the building. The most famous tourist attraction in Belgium plays host to many events throughout the year and has a statue of Saint Michael on top of the spire.

  • Palais de Justice

    The Law Courts of Brussels is the most vital Court building in Belgium as well as being a beautiful landmark and tourist attraction. It was the biggest building constructed in the 19th Century and students are able to tour this wonderful building, and learn about the history of the construction and gain insight into the world of court justice.

  • European Parliament

    The European Parliament is the perfect excursion for student is Law and Politics as this is the largest multi-national parliament in the world. 370 million citizens are represented here. Its primary objectives are to pass European laws and control the executive power. Visits must be booked directly through your MP/MEP.

  • NATO

    The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation has its headquarters in Brussels and school groups are welcome to step inside to find out more. Tours normally take about 3 hours and include an introduction to the organisation.

  • Council of the European Union

    Brussels is also home to the Council of the European Union. The Council is comprised of 27 national ministers who discuss and make important decisions. It has many responsibilities of which students can learn about when visiting this significantly important attraction.
