  • Urban Development Walking Tour

    A 4 hour guided walking tour can be arranged for your group around the redevelopment site of Lower Manhattan. An excellent opportunity for students to learn first-hand about redevelopment in one of the world's busiest cities and how the work effects the area.
     

  • Tenement Museum

    The Tenement Museum tells the story of 97 Orchard Street. Built on Manhattan's Lower East Side in 1863, this tenement apartment building was home to nearly 7000 working class immigrants and has been home to first generation immigrants from the mid-19th century to the present day.
     

  • Skyscraper Museum

    The Skyscraper museum explores the history behind the architectural background of New York City. You will have the opportunity to look how skyscrapers transformed people's lives and what their roles are in society. You will also find out how the buildings were first erected back in the 19th century.

     

  • Battery Park City Residential Development

    The city itself is a 92 acre community and is owned and managed by the Battery Park City Authority - a corporation created under the authority of the Urban Development Corporation. Excess revenue is being used on the area to contribute towards housing efforts, typically projects in the Bronx or Harlem.
     

  • Atlantic Yards, Brooklyn

    Atlantic Yards is a mixed use commercial and residential development project of 16 high rise buildings. The main development of the scheme is to be the Barclays Centre Arena which will be the new home of the basketball team known as the New Jersey Nets.
     

  • Lower Manhattan Residential Developments

    The areas within Lower Manhattan, such as Battery Park City, Greenwich Street South, Chinatown, the Financial District, Civic Center, and Tribeca, have undergone urban development schemes to improve the areas characteristics. Since then, there are 20 high scale projects in order to further improve the urban architecture.
     

  • Ground Zero

    Students can see the affect of the traumatising terrorist attack of 9/11, seeing the devastation it caused and efforts made by fellow citizens to remember the dead and rebuild their lives.
