We truly are the Germany experts!
Winners of the 2016 Best Group Tour Operator Germany Product Award
This year’s annual Germany Travel Show took place from the 11th-12th February at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London. Hosting various German exhibitors and delegates from the UK travel industry, Travelbound were represented by our Head of Product, Madeleine. The show came to a head with an award ceremony honouring the UK travel trade for their efforts in promoting Germany as a travel destination.
We caught up with Madeleine to learn more about the event, gala dinner, and our new award taking pride of place on the Travelbound mantelpiece.
Who else were present at the ceremony?
There were 60 national, regional and specialist German exhibitors represented culminating in a wealth of experience and a great platform to network. At Travelbound we are constantly looking at opportunities to enhance the travel and learning experiences we offer our schools. Encountering agents and building new business relationships places Travelbound in a good position to expand our range of tours and services. More than 120 visitors from the UK travel industry also attended so it was great to catch up with some familiar faces.
What did the evening gala consist of?
After a workshop event there was an opportunity to enjoy a sit-down meal with the German exhibitors and delegates from the UK travel industry. The evening was pleasantly broken up with live entertainment, including the German choir of London. Intermingled into the evening was the presentation of several awards. These were given for a number of different categories and awarded to those in the UK travel industry who support and promote Germany as a destination.
What award did we receive?
We received the Best Group Tour Operator Germany Product award. It was great to head up on stage and receive the award which was presented by Maritim Hotels.
What does the award mean for Travelbound?
Germany is an excellent destination for UK schools as so many curriculum subjects can be covered within our different tour programmes. Winning this award is recognition for the work Travelbound has done over the last few years in collaboration with the German National Tourist Office. It also acknowledges our efforts working closely with various German suppliers to expand our group product offering to Germany. Germany is a beautiful and fascinating country with a rich cultural heritage, but it is important we ensure service standards remain very high in line with our stringent TUI policies. By working closely with our partners we are able to offer excellent value for money and provide UK schools with everything they need to experience more of what this country has to offer.
