Extracurricular performing arts tours to Disneyland Paris don’t just give children the chance to perform, they give them the chance to shine. This July, we hosted one of Disney’s largest performing arts events – Dance the Dream with Stagecoach Performing Arts.
What is Dance the Dream?
Dance the Dream is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity organised by Travelbound for Stagecoach Performing Arts. Stagecoach schools from across the country come together to perform at Disneyland Paris as one combined showcase, allowing children the opportunity to perform in one of the world’s most well-known entertainment venues.
This July, we took 28 Stagecoach schools to Disneyland Paris, organising a magical event for over 600 performing arts students. An extracurricular performing arts trip to Disneyland Paris offers much more than a generic drama or music trip with a show tacked on – it puts performance at the centre.
Inside the experience
After travelling to Paris with arrangements put in place by Travelbound, Dance the Dream kicked off with hundreds of student performers and their families joining us at their selected Disney hotels. Travelbound reps were on hand to welcome and brief students, parents and teachers on the magical experience they’d be embarking on over the next few days.
After checking in and getting settled, guests headed over to Hotel New York– The Art of Marvel for an exciting Welcome Gala. The Gala included an official welcome from Stagecoach Head Office as well as a tasty buffet meal, perfect for fussy eaters and dietary requirements alike! Students had the opportunity to pose for a photograph with some iconic Disney characters and even to perform with them on stage.
After a well-needed night’s sleep, it was time to get ready to perform! Groups headed to the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle (Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant) where they sang to a crowd of parents, teachers and spectators. Students were also joined by special guests Timone and Rafiki from the Lion King as they shared their passion for performance with the crowd.
But that wasn’t all – there was more performance to be had! Students gathered for a second performance, this time focused on dance, as they took part in the Disney parade. Ater months of rehearsals, Stagecoach students showed off their high energy choreography as they performed on the parade route just before the official daily Disney parade.
With lots of downtime and opportunities to explore the park between performances, students and their families were able to make life-long memories and friendships outside of rehearsals and shows – forming closer bonds and building a real sense of community throughout the trip.

Selected groups also had the chance to perform pre-rehearsed dance pieces on stage at the Videopolis Theater, another iconic Disneyland Paris venue. From hip-hop to musical theatre, Stagecoach’s dancers gave it their all and came away with a real sense of achievement.

Each school rehearses separately beforehand then joins other Stagecoach schools for a shared showcase in the park, giving students a professional stage experience alongside performers from outside their own school.
