Three galleries of photographs and artefacts document the history, examining the perpetually evolving nature of the media. The route takes in such spots as the Cosby Show brownstone and Friends apartment block, with an accompanying soundtrack of theme tunes. From the start, Radio City was designed to enchant, built just after the stock market crash of 1929 as a symbol of hope. It is the largest indoor theatre in the world but retains a feeling of intimacy through its grand interiors and extraordinary use of space. Many US TV shows, such as the famous Good Morning America, are filmed in front of a studio audience. Students can join this audience and be part of a live broadcast. They may get front row seats and a chance to meet news anchors. Groups booking in advance can also get a backstage studio tour. Tip: Good Morning America participation requires an early start of 7am.
